0:00If you were redesigning federal funding for community action from scratch in Texas today, how would you think about it differently? — That's a loaded question. I can say for sure that I do appreciate the way that Head Start handles their funding direct to the grantees rather than having pass-through agencies. I appreciate that a lot more because our access to cash is a bit easier. We still have to justify it, we're still held to making sure that the payments made to us are proper and all of that.
0:32It's just that we can access our cash a little bit faster, and the people we communicate with are directly in line with the federal government. So there's no middleman adding rules or telling us what to do. I would just call for a bit more alignment with the way that the grants function.
