0:00Um, back to this notion that 40% of Americans, including here in Tacoma Pierce County, don't have $400 to in the event of emergency. That that is that is real. That's startling. That is real. Um, so the thought of guaranteed basic income, our pilots and many other pilots around the country focused on um, the the universe of families that were in our pilot were folks who wake up to go to work every single day. These are not people who are sleeping on the sitting on the couch eating bon-bons all day. These are folks who wake up every single day uh, to go to work, but they don't have enough income to make ends meet.
0:41So many people with these low-paying jobs. So, um, that that's the universe of families that so we we focused on people with fam so people with kids, people who were employed, but they were um, but their incomes were not able to keep up with their expenses.
